The World Bank Gender Strategy (2016-23) laid out three strategic objectives, all of which can be furthered by ICT (Information and Communication Technology):

  • Improving human endowment;
  • Broadening economic opportunities;
  • Enhancing women’s voice and agency.

There are unlimited opportunities for women to use ICT in order to benefit from participating in digital economy. The digital inclusion of women can catalyze development by empowering them to pursue new professions, access critical government and private services, and become more informed citizens.
